Job Description
The Contracts Administration Manager III is a senior-level professional responsible for leading and overseeing the full lifecycle of contract management within the organization. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while supporting business objectives through effective negotiation, administration, and monitoring of contracts. The manager provides guidance to junior staff, collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners, and proactively identifies and mitigates contractual risks. This position requires strong leadership, advanced problem-solving, and excellent communication skills to ensure successful contract execution and alignment with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, negotiation, review, execution, and closeout of a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, subcontracts, and amendments.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, particularly regarding government contracting and industry standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks to protect the organization's financial and operational interests.
- Partner with internal teams (legal, finance, procurement, operations, and business development) to align contract terms with organizational goals.
- Develop, implement, and optimize contract administration policies, procedures, and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide mentorship and direction to contract administrators and analysts, ensuring professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain accurate records, generate reports on contract performance, and provide insights to support executive decision-making.
- Manage contract-related disputes, working with legal counsel as necessary to achieve favorable outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration or contract management, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local contracting regulations, particularly in government contracting and/or IT services.
- Certification such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), or equivalent is preferred.
