Job Description
The Contracts Administration Manager II is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contract administration, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between the company, clients, and internal stakeholders for all contractual matters. The Contracts Administration Manager II provides leadership in contract negotiations, risk management, and contract execution, while also developing and implementing best practices for contract management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, negotiation, and execution of contracts, subcontracts, modifications, and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and operational teams to mitigate risks and resolve contractual issues.
- Monitor contract performance, including tracking deliverables, milestones, funding, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain and manage contract records, correspondence, and documentation in accordance with audit and retention policies.
- Review solicitations and contract terms to assess risk and provide recommendations to management.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and corporate governance initiatives.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior contract administrators to build departmental capability.
- Drive process improvement initiatives for contract management efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Legal Studies, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 6–8 years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting (FAR/DFARS) and/or commercial contracting practices.
- Proven experience managing complex contracts, including negotiation and risk assessment.
- Experience working in industries such as IT services, consulting, defense, or government contracting is highly desirable.
