Job Description
The Contract Analyst II plays a critical role in supporting the organization's contracting and procurement functions. This position is responsible for reviewing, drafting, analyzing, and managing contracts to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards. Acting as a liaison between internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders, the Contract Analyst II ensures that agreements are negotiated effectively, risks are minimized, and business objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise contracts, amendments, and agreements to align with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure contracts meet company compliance standards, mitigate risks, and flag potential issues for legal or leadership review.
- Partner with stakeholders to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors, suppliers, and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain accurate contract files, records, and tracking systems to ensure proper documentation and easy retrieval.
- Work with procurement, legal, finance, and business units to align contract terms with operational and financial requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve contract management workflows, tools, and best practices.
- Track contract milestones, deadlines, renewals, and expirations; prepare reports on contract status and key metrics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in contract analysis, contract administration, or procurement.
- Familiarity with contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with contract management systems (CMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools is preferred.
- Government contracting knowledge (if applicable to your industry) is a plus.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex terms clearly.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with contract management tools.
