Job Description
The Contract Analyst III plays a critical role in supporting contract management, compliance, and negotiation processes. This position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring complex contractual agreements to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and client requirements. As a senior-level analyst, the Contract Analyst III provides subject matter expertise, supports cross-functional stakeholders, and contributes to process improvements in contract lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and revise contracts, amendments, and related documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Partner with legal, procurement, vendors, and clients to negotiate favorable terms while balancing business and risk considerations.
- Identify potential risks within contracts and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational interests.
- Ensure all agreements meet regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements. Maintain awareness of relevant laws and industry standards.
- Oversee contract administration processes, including execution, tracking, and renewal management.
- Provide guidance and consultation to business units on contract language, obligations, and best practices.
- Develop and deliver reports on contract performance, obligations, and compliance. Provide insights to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to contract management systems, templates, and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, or related field required. A Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree is preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in contract analysis, management, or a related legal/commercial field.
- Demonstrated expertise with complex agreements (e.g., vendor contracts, client service agreements, government contracts).
- Experience working with contract management software and systems.
- Strong understanding of contract law, procurement practices, and risk management principles.
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR, DFARS, HIPAA, GDPR, depending on industry).
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify contractual risks and inconsistencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment in decision-making.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and contract management tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing leadership and mentorship to junior analysts.
