Position Summary:
The Senior Facilities Manager oversees facility operations and maintenance for the Tamarac Family Emergency Non-Congregate Shelter. This role is responsible for ensuring the physical safety, sanitation, and functionality of the property, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, custodial, and preventive maintenance. The Senior Facilities Manager supervises maintenance, laundry, and custodial staff, coordinates outside contractors, and ensures compliance with HOST standards, city building codes, and health & safety regulations.

General Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

- Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including maintenance, custodial, laundry, and groundskeeping.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, laundry and custodial staff, ensuring timely task completion and quality standards.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Ensure facility compliance with HOST Shelter Standards, fire/life safety codes, ADA requirements, and public health regulations.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships for specialized repairs or inspections.
- Oversee inventory and procurement of cleaning supplies, parts, and maintenance equipment.
- Respond to facility emergencies and coordinate after-hours/on-call coverage.
- Monitor custodial and sanitation protocols to ensure safe, clean, and dignified spaces for residents.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with Site Director and finance team on facility-related budget planning and expense tracking.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations on facility needs to leadership.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of building operations, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with OSHA, ADA, and health/safety regulations.
- Ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises maintenance technicians, custodians, and laundry staff.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and accountability for facilities team performance.
- Coordinates cross-training and professional development for facilities staff.

Full-Time (some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities required)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, lift, bend, and operate tools/equipment.
- Frequently required to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to respond to facility emergencies in a timely manner.

Bayaud Works is a subsidiary of AC Disaster Consulting. Our Temporary Staffing Service works with Federal, State, City, County, and private employers to provide high-quality staffing and operations support. Bayaud Works was created to provide opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment and has since expanded to include staffing and management for shelter services, safety patrol, janitorial services, transportation, and more.
Experience and Education Required
- Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible facilities management experience.
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Xcel, Word)
Experience and Education Preferred
- Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Building Operations, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with commercial facilities and compliance reporting preferred
- Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, OSHA) strongly preferred.
Additional Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check for work with vulnerable populations.
- Valid driver's license required; must meet Bayaud Works' motor vehicle insurance standards if driving for work.
