The Workforce Development & Placement Specialist is part of a strategic expansion for The Corporate Source (TCS) to support program growth, strengthen employer partnerships, and increase successful job placements across regions. This role serves as a critical liaison between job seekers, vocational staff and businesses to ensure successful job placement, retention and career advancement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, corporations, and community organizations
Conduct outreach to identify job leads, customized employment opportunities, and IT internship placements
Educate employers on the benefits/value of hiring people with disabilities, including productivity, retention and inclusion benefits (WOTC)
Provide individualized job search support, including resume development, interview preparation, application and new hire processes
Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation Staff, Chief Communications & Development Officer, Operations Management and businesses to support successful placements and ongoing employment.
Provide onsite job coaching support with placed employees to address barriers for success.
Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to our mission to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Business, Marketing, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2-4 years of experience in job development, workforce development, recruiting
Knowledge of ACCES-VR services and documentation requirements
Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other underserved populations
Skills & Competencies
Strong relationship-building and networking skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Knowledge of job placement strategies and labor market trends
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data tracking systems
Work Environment
Combination of office-based work and community engagement across TCS service areas (e.g., Long Island, NYC, and surrounding regions)
Regular travel to work sites and program locations required
