OVERVIEW:
TRADE Transportation is Mercer County's paratransit
service dedicated to providing safe, efficient, and compassionate non-emergency
transportation for older adults and individuals with disabilities. As a Driver,
you will play a vital role in helping our residents maintain access to
healthcare, community services, and daily essentials.
We welcome both full-time and part-time candidates—our
need is immediate, and we are flexible in filling these important positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate County vehicles to transport elderly
and disabled passengers
- Assist passengers boarding and exiting vehicles,
including operation of wheelchair lifts
- Escort passengers to and from their homes or
destinations when needed
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, minor
servicing, and cleaning
- Maintain accurate trip records and provide basic
reporting
- Respond to emergencies or passenger needs calmly and
professionally
REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid New Jersey driver's license
- For our current fleet and immediate need a CDL with
passenger endorsement is needed
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of safe transportation practices for elderly
and disabled individuals
- Ability to operate vehicles safely and with care
- Familiarity with local geography and trip routing
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working
with vulnerable populations
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow safety
protocols
