About Futures First
Futures First is a transformative program supportingTransitional Age Youth (TAY)ages 16–28 navigating homelessness, justice involvement, foster care, behavioral health challenges, and other systemic barriers. We walk with youth from crisis to stability—and beyond.
What You"ll Do:
- Lead operations for a 12-bed, 24/7 TAY shelter as part of the Long Beach Navigation Center network
- Supervise a team of Program Coordinators and guide trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices
- Oversee intake, resident orientation, safety protocols, and daily shift activities
- Ensure compliance with CalAIM ECM, Medi-Cal, and city-funded program requirements
- Manage incident response, team scheduling, and documentation review
- Build partnerships with city departments, funders, and care coordination teams
What We"re Looking For:
- 3+ years in residential or shelter supervision, especially with youth populations
- Strong leadership, crisis de-escalation, and trauma-informed engagement skills
- Deep understanding of quality assurance in health and housing services
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred
- Availability for flexible scheduling and emergency coverage as needed
- Lived experience and bilingual fluency (Spanish, Khmer, Tagalog) highly valued
