Position Summary: Responsible for teaching students about agricultural mechanics, welding, and technical math while managing the classroom, shop, and ensuring student safety. Collaborate and share responsibilities with the agriculture faculty to strengthen, expand, and excel the local FFA chapter program.
Illustrative Duties:

Expert in Agriculture Mechanics; manages metal shop operations and safety

Mentoring students as part of a team of FFA advisors and coordinating competitions; assist with barn and livestock management

Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state and local curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular experiences.

Oversees Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE)

Demonstrates skills in budget management, including proper allocation of funds, and maintenance of accurate financial records in alignment with district regulations

Builds effective relationships with students, parents, and industry partners

Creates an enriching hands-on learning environment, resulting in student portfolios illustrating real-world connections, preparation for Ag shows/employment, and project inventory
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students and administration.

Instruct through lectures, discussions, demonstrations and other appropriate methods for the subject area.

Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning for all students, including students with individual education plans, using approved curricula.

Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic needs.

Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.

Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.

Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests.

Excellent skills in oral and written communication

Skills in leadership, interpersonal relations, organization, prioritization, problem solving and conflict management, assessment and evaluation.

Ability to work with students, staff, administration, and parents.

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal/ CTE Director
