Illustrative Duties:
-
Prepares performance-based objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the school, State and Federal initiatives; meets State and local performance measures.

Develops annual goals for program improvement: revise and update program curriculum using performance based open entry/open exit individualized curriculum materials, as needed.

Organizes a program of practical and technical instruction, including demonstrations of skills required in welding professions, and lectures on theory, techniques, and terminology: prepares outline of instructional programs and studies and assembles materials to be presented: reviews with supervisor, as needed.

Instructs students in subject areas, i.e., use, maintenance, and the safe operation of tools and equipment, codes or regulations related to the welding program.

Instructs students on the importance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness and good work habits in obtaining employment in industries that depend on welding to build their products.

Develops and maintains an active program advisory committee; provides documentation of meetings, i.e., attendance reports and minutes of each meeting.

Maintains relationships with the business community to ensure job training goals, objectives, and curriculum are aligned with current business standards and practices.

Sponsors the local chapter of SkillsUSA. Encourages and assists students in regional, state, and national competition preparation. Maintains all requirements as outlined by SkillsUSA to retain charter.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students and administration.

Instruct through lectures, discussions, demonstrations and other appropriate methods for the subject area.

Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning for all students, including students with individual education plans, using approved curricula.

Confer with parents or guardians, other teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic needs.

Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
-
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.

Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic problems, or special academic interests.

Excellent skills in oral and written communication

Skills in leadership, interpersonal relations, organization, prioritization, problem solving and conflict management, assessment and evaluation.

Ability to work with students, staff, administration, and parents.

Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal/ CTE Director

SALARY: $51,500.00-$69,400.00 (Initial placement depends upon experience and education)
