Position Overview:
The Warehouse Manager is a critical leadership role within Spirit’s franchised distribution and supply chain services, responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations. This full-time, on-site role involves strategic planning, team management, and optimization of inventory control and distribution processes. The Warehouse Manager ensures efficient receiving, handling, and shipping of microelectronics, semiconductors, and EEE components while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Warehouse Manager also supports Spirit’s operations with receiving and shipping of all materials supporting engineering services, supply chain services, and business operations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement warehouse strategies to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Manage and mentor a small team of Warehouse Associates, assigning tasks and monitoring team resources and skills
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely order fulfillment
- Collaborate with other department heads (Purchasing, Quality, Sales) to align warehouse operations with company objectives
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems and technologies
- Establish and monitor KPIs for warehouse performance, productivity, and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry-specific standards, including AS9100 quality management and MIL-STD requirements
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures for handling sensitive electronic components, including ESD controls, FOD controls, and environmental controls
- Manage warehouse budget, including labor costs, equipment maintenance, and operational expenses
- Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to optimize inbound and outbound logistics
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reduce costs
- Oversee warehouse layout planning and space utilization optimization
- Manage equipment acquisition, maintenance, and replacement schedules
- Conduct regular audits of inventory, processes, and safety compliance
- Prepare and present reports to upper management on warehouse performance and strategic initiatives
- Handle escalated issues related to inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, quality issues, or customer complaints
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in warehouse management
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive high-value components
- Coordinate with the e-commerce personnel to optimize fulfillment processes for online orders
