Under supervision and in accordance with established procedures and standards, performs a variety of tasks associated with Food & Nutrition services to patients, staff and cafeteria patrons. Usually assigned to a specific service area but is required to assist in various capacities due to workload and staffing variations. Handles food in accordance with department and regulatory agency standards and procedures. Knowledge ordinarily aquired through the completion of high school level course work along with courses in typing, business systems and office procedures. Successful completion of the nutrition knowledge assessment. Nutrition education course work desirable.
Six to twelve months related experience in order to develop and demonstrate the necessary clerical, interpersonal and analytical skills.
