The Mission
A Facilities Technician plays a very important role that maintains, repairs, and secures the company‘s buildings, ensuring HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems operate efficiently. They conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, manage vendor relationships, and handle general repairs like painting and carpentry. This role often involves emergency repairs and requires strong technical skills in building systems. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is a critical employee often asked to contribute above and beyond.
Position targets / Outcomes:
· Facility Operational Status:
o Follow procedures for maintaining the operation in keeping with standard practices.
o Minimizing downtime by responding quickly to out of specification conditions and making timely repairs.
o Work overtime as required.
· Supports Production Goals:
o Establish best value sources for repair parts and services
o Willing to work in inclement weather to ensure plant uptime.
o Assist on site Contractors to achieve success.
· Handle Hazardous Materials and Wastes:
o Must become certified in handling and storage of HM’s
o Trained to identify and clean up HW.
o Must learn proper disposal techniques for HW.
· Team Building & Leadership:
o Mentor other Facilities Technicians to strengthen the team
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making.
Requirements:
· A minimum of 1+ years of progressive experience in Facilities Maintenance, Construction.
· Hands-on experience in the electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing fields. Direct experience with supporting a manufacturing operation is a significant advantage.
