Position Summary
The Regional Director is responsible for the operational and financial performance of a portfolio of WELL Health clinics across Ontario. This role provides leadership, oversight, and strategic support to clinic teams and physicians to ensure efficient operations, strong financial performance, and exceptional patient experience. The Regional Director will work closely with physicians operating under Family Health Organization (FHO) models and must have a strong understanding of Ontario primary care funding structures.
The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between clinic leadership, physicians, and the corporate team, ensuring alignment with WELL Health’s operational standards, compliance requirements, and growth objectives.
What you will be doing:
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations of a portfolio of primary care clinics across Ontario.Support clinic managers and administrative teams in optimizing workflows, staffing, scheduling, and patient access.Ensure clinics adhere to WELL Health operational standards, policies, and quality benchmarks.Identify opportunities to improve clinic efficiency, patient experience, and physician satisfaction.Lead implementation of operational initiatives, process improvements, and new programs across the region.
Financial Oversight
Monitor and manage clinic financial performance including revenue, expenses, and overall profitability.Analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for clinics within the portfolio.Partner with finance and clinic teams to drive revenue optimization and cost management.
Physician & Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with physicians, particularly those operating within Family Health Organization (FHO) models.Provide guidance and support related to FHO operations, billing processes, and performance metrics.Act as a trusted partner to physicians and clinic leadership to address operational challenges and opportunities.Collaborate with internal departments including finance, HR, IT, and digital health teams.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure clinics comply with Ontario healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, and applicable policies.Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.Maintain awareness of changes in primary care models, physician compensation frameworks, and healthcare policies affecting clinic operations.
Leadership & Team Development
Mentor and support clinic managers and administrative teams.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and patient-centered care.Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of clinic leadership where needed.
You Have:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, preferably within primary care clinics.Strong understanding of Ontario primary care funding models, particularly Family Health Organizations (FHO).Experience managing multi-site operations or regional clinic portfolios.Strong financial acumen with experience reviewing and managing clinic P&L performance.Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working directly with physicians or physician groups.Familiarity with EMR systems and digital health technologies.Experience within large clinic networks or healthcare organizations.
