Job Summary:
Trades Program Coordinator plays an integral role in the receipt and maintenance of a Trades program’s accreditation. CIMT College is looking for a reliable and competent Trades Program Coordinator to join the team and teach the program that would assist students in learning the competencies required in skilled trades(Renovation, Construction, Cabinetry and Furniture) and would also prepare them continue progressing in the fields of Renovations and Cabinetry.
The Trades Program coordinator will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out related operational duties.The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of the accredited Trades programs according to the organization’s standards.
Working Hours- Mon To Friday-9am to 5:30pm and may need to work on Evenings and Weekends-occassionally
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Program Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the trades programs, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to the college policies.
- Coordinate class schedules, faculty assignments, and program resources.
- Monitor program budgets and manage expenses.
- Ensure enough supplies are in place for successful delivery of all cohorts.
2. Curriculum Development and Assessment:
- Work with faculty to develop new programs and courses and also update curriculum to reflect industry trends and technological advancements.
- Ensure that programs meet accreditation standards and industry requirements.
- Develop and implement assessment methods to evaluate program effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
3. Faculty Support and Development:
- Provide guidance and support to faculty members, including assistance with instructional materials, teaching strategies, and professional development.
- Coordinate faculty meetings and training sessions to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of faculty.
- Available to Supply in for instructors to avoid class cancellations.
- Ensure Timely submission of course completion reports and getting class feedbacks completed by students
4. Student Engagement and Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for students in the trades programs, addressing academic and administrative concerns.
- Develop and implement student support services, such as tutoring, career counseling, and job placement assistance.
- Organize program-related events, workshops, and industry visits to enhance the student experience.
5. Industry Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, and trade associations.
- Coordinate internships, apprenticeships, and co-op placements for students.
- Engage with industry stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure program relevance.
6. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all trades program activities and facilities.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate records related to compliance and safety.
Skills required:
- 5+ years of work experience Trades industry
- Must be hands on with the tools and equipment
Excellent communication and organization abilities
Working knowledge and hands on experience with MS office and AutoCAD
Must be detail oriented
Focused on day to day tasks as assigned
Excellent time management skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of work experience Trades industry
- Associate Degree/Diploma from an accredited trade school of Studies is required or have equivalent experience
- Experience in trades education, program coordination, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands on experience in teaching
- Experience working as a Trades Program Coordinator is an asset
- Strong understanding of trades industries and current trends.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, and industry partners.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to trades programs.
- Proficiency in office software, AutoCAD and technology tools for program management.
Working Conditions
- Trades Program Coordinators are provided with the necessary tools and equipment required to complete daily tasks

- Adhere to all CIMT College Policies and Procedures
- Comply with all regulatory standards as set out by the Ministry of Training for Colleges and Universities, and the OCC Act, 2005
Pay Details-
Base Salary Pay- CAD $70k- $72k per annum
