Courier
The Courier is responsible for the transportation of items to and from hospital departments and off-site offices and facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Delivers mail, supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, laboratory specimens, and x-rays to and from hospital departments, St. Claire Medical Group Clinic, home health offices, off site billing office, Outpatient Center, and Counseling Office.
- Routinely makes deliveries to and pick-ups from other sites (e.g. private physician offices, nursing homes, health departments, etc.).
- Drives approximately 200 miles per day.
- Hauls bio-hazardous containers and materials, using proper precautions.
- Maintains accurate logs for laboratory specimens, x-rays, and pharmaceuticals.
- Transports time sensitive patient care materials.
- Transports numerous temperature controlled lab specimens and pharmaceutical supplies on a daily basis.
- Schedules and coordinates all courier vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Performs other courier-related duties as directed by supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions required. Ability to operate a motor vehicle required. Excellent verbal communication skills required.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
One to two years of related experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Kentucky Driver’s License required. Current/active automobile insurance policy required. Safe driving record required.
