Ultrasound Sonographer
This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus!
The Ultrasound sonographer performs age-specific ultrasound procedures to diagnose and treat anatomic and physiologic disorders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receives, informs, and prepares patients for ultrasound procedures.
- Performs and assists with ultrasound procedures ordered by the physician.
- Assumes responsibility for providing patients with physical and psychological needs during ultrasound/echo procedures.
- Maintains necessary inventory of supplies and cleanliness for assigned work area.
- Processes ultrasound film and maintains quality control.
- Transports patients between departments.
- Performs departmental recordkeeping procedures.
- Assists in retrieval of radiology records.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment within the ultrasound/echo department.
Education:
Graduate from a Sonography and/or Radiologic Technology program required.
Experience:
None
Licensure/Certification:
Current radiation operator certification issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky preferred. Additional registry/registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire required.
