About the role
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, safe, and professional nursing care to clients in a fast-paced environment. This role involves directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, scheduling, and supervising nursing operations to optimize efficiency and maintain the safe delivery of behavioral health and nursing services. The Nursing Supervisor fosters a positive, empathetic, and professional environment while ensuring the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services that align with the facility's strategic goals, objectives, and mission.  
Compensation range: $90k - $105k
What you'll do
- The Nursing Supervisor assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services and for nursing policies, procedures, and practices. 
 - The Nursing Supervisor determines and schedules nursing staff based on patient census and acuity, and is responsible for scheduling licensed nurses for twenty-four-hour coverage. 
 - The Nursing Supervisor implements an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to Hygea Healthcare patients. 
 - The position is responsible for all day-to-day nursing activities.
 - Articulates a vision that inspires others and can attract, develop, and retain talent.
 - The Nursing Supervisor remains on call 24/7 to support the Nursing Department. 
 - The Nursing Supervisor represents nursing on management committees, seeking solutions to problems; works as a team player; problem-solves;and monitors effectiveness by creating KPIs and goals for self and team. 
 - Working with the Director of Residential Programs, oversees risk management for clinical and program staff. 
 - Facilitates monthly and quarterly tracking, data collection, and reporting on CARF/The Joint Commission standards that impact the organization. 
 - Develops, monitors, and maintains the nursing department budget, ensuring operational expenses remain within a 1% variance of the approved budget. Identifies cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient care and allocates resources efficiently to meet organizational goals
 
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN). Master's degree in nursing preferred. 
 -  Current licensure and registration by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse are required. 
 -  Five to eight years of professional nursing experience in residential drug treatment or a relevant setting is required. 
 - Experience working with individuals suffering from mental disorders and substance abuse is required.  
 - Must have two to three years of management experience, preferably at the director level or above, and a minimum of five years of nursing experience.  
 - Able to demonstrate knowledge of facility, State of Maryland, federal laws and regulations, and CARF/Joint Commission Standards.  
 - Must be knowledgeable of nursing residential care management, personnel management, practices, policies, and procedures pertaining to long-term care administration.  
 - Must maintain BLS certification and yearly PPD  
 - Must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and emotional intelligence.  
 - Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, manager, staff, patients, and their families.  
 - Must have a value set consistent with a culture that is based upon respect, stewardship, connectedness, entrepreneurship, high ethical standards, and a passion to make a difference with intrinsic motivation.  
 - Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation systems, and reporting.  
 - Preferred experience managing operational budgets.
