Behavioral Health Technician, SUD Community Living, 12-hour Day Shift
Hygea Healthcare is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians for our 50-bed facility in Middle River, MD. Come join us in our state-of-the-art facility. We are looking for staff to work 12-hour shifts with permanent 7 AM to 7 PM and rotating weekends. The compensation range is $19.00-21 hourly.
Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for the support and monitoring of clients while in the program, as well as ensuring the physical environment is safe and clean. He/she will maintain close communication with clinical, nursing, and administrative staff to ensure the client's needs are met.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the facility through sanitizing, dusting, deep cleaning, etc., all client areas of the facility (i.e., kitchen, dining room, gym, etc.) Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral problems and assists in crisis intervention, as needed.
- Observes and manages urine drug testing and breathalyzer screening.
- Facilitates house meetings in the absence of the Program Manager.
- Maintains confidentiality of client records.
- Maintains established institutional policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. May provide liaison with clients, clients' families, or external facilities and agencies.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or willingness to obtain GED
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR preferred.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent (Associate's degree in mental health or addiction treatment setting preferred)
- Training in motivational interviewing is a plus.
- Training in Trauma Informed Care a plus.
- Recovery coach training is a plus.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of community resources.
