Position Overview
Are you passionate about swimming and love working with children and adults of all ages? Join our team as a Swim Instructor I and help people of all skill levels develop water safety and swimming techniques that last a lifetime. You'll lead fun, engaging, and safe swimming lessons while supporting the overall aquatics program in a positive, team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
Lead High-Quality Swim Instruction

Deliver safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate swim lessons for all ages and abilities.

Follow scheduled class formats and adapt instruction to meet the needs of each student.

Provide feedback, modifications, and encouragement to foster a positive learning environment.

Arrive early and remain after class to answer participant or parent questions.
Maintain a Safe, Enjoyable Environment

Create a fun, inclusive, and secure atmosphere where students can thrive.

Monitor the pool area to prevent hazards and ensure all safety guidelines are followed.

Clean and organize the pool area before and after lessons.
Support Program Success

Collaborate with the Aquatics Coordinator to develop new lesson plans and class offerings.

Promote and support other facility events and programs.

Attend staff meetings and ongoing training to enhance skills and stay informed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
-
Must be at least 17 years of age.
-
Prior experience in swim instruction, swim teams, youth coaching, or aquatics programming required.
Certifications
Skills & Attributes

Passion for teaching swimming and helping students build lifelong water safety skills.

Ability to engage and manage children and adults in a class setting.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Friendly, responsible, and team-oriented attitude.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Active in-water instruction and demonstration required.

Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

May experience variable temperatures, noise levels, and physical exertion.

Physical stamina necessary to perform rescues, teach effectively, and ensure poolside safety.
