Position Overview
We are embarking on an exciting journey to transform our industry-leading on-premises threat detection solution into a cloud-native SaaS platform. As part of our Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR) bundle, this solution will be the cornerstone of threat detection capabilities for our growing cloud platform. We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Staff Software Engineer to lead this critical transformation effort, architecting and building a scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based threat detection platform from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned technical leader to shape the future of cybersecurity threat detection in the cloud. You will pioneer the integration of AI and machine learning capabilities into our threat detection engine, enabling intelligent anomaly detection, automated threat response, and natural language interfaces for security teams. Working closely with executive leadership, you"ll define the technical vision, mentor a team of talented engineers, and drive the architectural decisions that will impact thousands of organizations worldwide protecting their Active Directory environments from advanced threats.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days in Kraków office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural transformation of our threat detection product from on-premises to a multi-tenant SaaS platform, making critical decisions on technology stack, scalability patterns, and cloud-native design
- Design and implement threat detection capabilities leveraging deep Active Directory and Azure AD expertise to monitor, analyze, and detect security threats across hybrid environments
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into the platform to enable intelligent threat detection, anomaly identification, and predictive security analytics while ensuring explainability and accuracy
- Establish engineering excellence by writing exemplary C#/.NET code, designing scalable backend services with PostgreSQL/EF Core, and setting technical standards for the team
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with executive leadership, product management, and platform teams to ensure technical vision aligns with business objectives
- Mentor and grow the engineering team while building a culture of innovation, security-first thinking, and technical excellence
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Bachelor"s or Master"s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10-12+ years of software development experience with a focus on enterprise software
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET ecosystem (.NET Core/.NET)
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Entity Framework Core in high-performance scenarios
- Deep understanding of Active Directory
- Extensive experience designing and building SaaS platforms at scale
- Expertise in cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures
- Strong understanding of multi-tenancy, data isolation, and SaaS security best practices
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code
- Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/observability
- Familiarity with threat detection methodologies, SIEM concepts, and security frameworks
Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence technical direction at all levels
- Proven ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives and timelines
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges
Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in cybersecurity, threat detection, or security software development
- Experience with Azure Active Directory and hybrid cloud identity solutions
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in threat detection
- Contributions to open-source projects or thought leadership in security/cloud communities
- Experience with legacy system modernization and incremental migration strategies
- Understanding of ITDR (Identity Threat Detection and Response) market and solutions
