Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented PCBA Line Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating our printed circuit board assembly line, managing production workflows, and continuously improving our assembly processes. Work is split roughly between small-scale, rapid turnaround prototyping runs and intermediate quantity production runs of proven designs. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, hands-on technical skills, and a passion for optimizing manufacturing efficiency across diverse production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
- Operate and monitor PCBA line equipment and processes
- Manage PCB assembly area, maintaining organization and workflow efficiency
- Assemble circuit boards into final enclosures
- Perform hand soldering for through-hole connectors and surface mount component rework
- Ensure high-quality output through careful inspection and testing
Process Improvement
- Continuously evaluate and improve PCBA processes to increase speed, efficiency, and yield
- Document procedures for existing and newly developed processes
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to optimize production flow
- Collaborate with engineering team on process enhancements
Technical Support
- Work with pick and place file workflows (Python scripting experience preferred)
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records and quality documentation
Required Qualifications
- High attention to detail with commitment to quality standards
- Baseline familiarity with electronic components and their functionalities
- Experience with hand soldering techniques
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clean, efficient work areas
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing line operations or quality control
- Basic Python scripting knowledge for automation workflows
- Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) processes
- Familiarity with IPC standards and best practices
- Technical certification in electronics or related field
