About the role
As Community Center Assistant Manager you will work directly under the CC Manager overseeing all aspects and responsibilities entailed in daily operations. As assistant manager, you will provide leadership to the onsite team by planning, organizing and directing all operations of the community center and recreation programs while collaborating with the partner. Primary responsibilities include creating a positive experience for all members, program participants, and guests. Functions include program development/ management, customer service, fitness management, staff supervision, marketing, community outreach, and events coordination.
What you"ll do
- Oversee the daily operations of the facility. Ensure the front desk, reception, and general public areas are tidy, organized and cleaned daily.
- Understand all aspects of the software and procedures set into place by the partner as well as by Simplex Wellness which includes, but is not limited to:
- MyRec or applicable membership platform
- Rippling or applicable staff scheduling and payroll platforms
- Google Drive for (partner and employer) for team sharing
- Fitness scheduling software (Acuity or MindBody)
- Refer to site specific Standard Operating Procedures for additional
- Investigate and professionally handle customer service inquiries and public relations related matters to ensure maximum customer service results.
- Coordinate and facilitate membership contracts and subcontracts support with reporting and documentation of discrepancies
- Work closely with the partner to ensure all facility maintenance needs are being met. Complete work orders for any onsite repairs or facility attention.
- Evaluate all programs to improve efficiencies, and processes and create new innovative quality programming for the community center.
- Work with the partner to create ways to effectively market the community center, including promotional events, public and media relations and developing pricing strategies for new programs.
- Develop, revise and implement facility policies and procedures; rules and regulations in regard to patron use, fees, customer service, safety, risk management, and compliance.
- Develop and monitor the community center annual budgeted hours including front desk, fitness, and facility operations at the community center. Assure effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, hours and credits.
- Work the front desk and serve as the main point of contact for members, visitors, vendors, staff and guests ensuring proper check-in procedure is followed for anyone entering the facility.
- Accurately reconcile daily sales receipts and oversee cash flow procedures and payroll for the facility. Balance the cash drawer, reconcile membership accounts, and make any necessary corrections and voids.
- Order, maintain and organize supplies, assist with budget preparation and management.
- Assist and procure staff shifts to support outside community events such as Community Day, Health fairs, etc
- Oversee the staff schedule and ensure adequate coverage for the facility following allowable budgeted hours set forth by Simplex.
- Recruiting: Screening candidates, hiring, scheduling and training to competency in tandem with Simplex Regional Manager through Rippling or recruiting software.
- Build teamwork and resolve employee grievances and provide professional advice and mentorship to staff.
- Schedule meetings with partner and upper management and provide meeting agendas, minutes, etc.
Qualifications
- 3+ years relevant experience in the recreation, customer service or public health related field
- Maintain up to date CPR/AED certification.
- Adhere to clearance requirements of clients (must be obtained independently). These clearances must be updated every 36 months.

The pay range for this role is:19 - 19 USD per hour(UPT)
