Fueling Brains Education Services delivers high-quality early intervention programs for children accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (MM) support at Fueling Brains Academy centers across Calgary and Strathmore. Our goal is to support optimal brain development in the early years through multidisciplinary collaboration, family engagement, and play-based therapeutic interventions.
The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a contracted Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team for the 2025–2026 school year, starting September 2025. This flexible, part-time opportunity (20–30 hours per month) is ideal for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, values family-centered care, and is passionate about supporting young children's development through consultation, coaching, and evidence-based intervention.

What You"ll Do
- Conduct assessments to identify children's strengths, needs, and areas for growth.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop individualized intervention goals and plans.
- Provide consultative support for therapy assistants and educators implementing day-to-day programming and activities.
- Offer coaching and recommendations that integrate therapy strategies into daily routines at home and in the classroom.
- Contribute to the development of meaningful and functional activities that support children's independence, fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and play.
- Monitor progress and participate in team case conferences and progress reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation in alignment with regulatory and program standards.
- Provide ongoing communication with families and team members to ensure consistent support and follow-through.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active and regulated member of the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
- Experience in early intervention, pediatric therapy, or preschool/kindergarten settings
- Strong understanding of child development, sensory integration, and evidence-based practice
- A background in sensory processing and regulation strategies is a strong asset
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Comfort with providing consultation and coaching across home and school environments
- Valid First Aid certification
- Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Familiarity with Alberta's early childhood services and funding models (PUF/MM) is an asset
Work Environment
This role may include occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs), sitting on the floor, kneeling, or working at child-level furniture. Some evening or weekend availability may be required for family meetings or team consultations. Potential exposure to childhood illnesses or bodily fluids is part of working in early childhood settings.
