We're looking for a creative, detail-driven, and highly organized Event Planner to bring the APF mission to life through powerful community experiences. From health equity forums and outreach activations to fundraising galas and cultural workshops, you'll lead the planning and execution of events that spark connection, elevate visibility, and drive meaningful impact. This is a key role for someone who thrives on logistics and lives for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute all aspects of APF events—from concept to completion—including vendor coordination, venue logistics, staffing, and day-of management
• Develop detailed timelines, task lists, and budgets; manage deliverables to ensure events are delivered on time and within scope
• Partner with internal teams and external collaborators to ensure smooth coordination and alignment with APF's mission and messaging
• Support branding efforts by working closely with the Marketing team to develop event collateral, signage, and promotional materials that reflect APF identity
• Oversee guest registration, RSVP systems, volunteer assignments, and onsite logistics for a seamless attendee experience
• Coordinate post-event wrap-up, debriefs, and reporting, including data collection, impact summaries, and lessons learned
• Collaborate across departments to identify program-specific event needs and integrate community voices into design and execution
• Act as an ambassador of APF at all events, reflecting our values of inclusion, excellence, and cultural responsivenessQualifications
• At least 3 years of experience in event planning, nonprofit coordination, or community engagement
• Strong project management, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure and navigate shifting priorities with poise
• A creative eye with sharp attention to detail and strong follow-through
• Experience working with diverse communities and a deep commitment to culturally responsive practices
• Proficiency with Canva, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and event platforms (Eventbrite, Splash, etc.)
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with Long Beach and the surrounding community landscape
• Bilingual in Spanish, Khmer, or other community-relevant languages
• Experience coordinating with city agencies, sponsors, and grassroots partnersCompensation & Benefits
