Finance & Operations Manager - Mission Advancement
Reports To: Vice President of People & Operations
Location: McKinney, Texas
Position Summary
The Finance & Operations Manager serves as the operational backbone of Mission Advancement, ensuring the organization runs efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with its mission and values.
This individual owns the firm's day-to-day financial administration, business operations, compliance activities, vendor relationships, and operational systems. The Finance & Operations Manager is responsible for creating order, driving accountability, and proactively improving the processes that support our team, clients, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically savvy, and energized by building systems that help people succeed. They are equally comfortable managing accounts receivable, coordinating vendor contracts, documenting processes, or identifying operational improvements that allow the organization to scale.
This is a high-trust, high-responsibility role that requires excellent judgment, discretion, and a commitment to excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
Financial Operations-
Own and manage operational financial activities that support the firm's health and sustainability.
Payrolland Benefits Administration-
Support positive employee experience through administration of payroll, benefits, and HR systems.
Business Operations and Office Management-
Ensure the day-to-day infrastructure of the business operates effectively and efficiently.
Process Improvement and Systems Management-
Lead initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness and create scalability.
Financial Operations (35%) - Own and manage operational financial activities that support the firm's health and sustainability.
Responsibilities
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) processes and payment workflowsManage Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, invoicing, collections supportMaintain transaction accuracy within QuickBooks OnlineMonitor and reconcile company credit card expensesAdminister employee reimbursement processesCoordinate with outsourced accounting partners regarding month-end close activitiesAssist with annual budgeting and forecasting processesPrepare and organize documentation for audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting Develop and maintain financial process documentation and internal controlsProvide leadership with visibility into AR and financial metrics

Accurate financial records, timely invoicing and collections, well-documented financial processes, and smooth collaboration with accounting partners.
Payroll & Benefits Administration (15%) - Support a positive employee experience through thoughtful administration of benefits and HR systems.
Responsibilities
Process biweekly payrollManage benefit enrollments, changes, and annual renewalsMaintain employee records and system accuracy within RipplingSupport onboarding and offboarding processesSupport compliance reporting and required employment documentationAssist with employee communications related to benefits and operational policiesMaintain HR and benefits process documentation

Employees are paid accurately and on time, seamless employee onboarding and offboarding, accurate employee records, strong compliance and documentation practices.
Operations & Office Management (35%) - Ensure the day-to-day infrastructure of the business operates effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Manage relationships with office, technology, and business service vendorsCoordinate office operations, facilities needs, and building-related mattersTrack and manage company subscriptions and recurring contractsMaintain business licenses, registrations, annual filings, and compliance requirementsCoordinate equipment, technology, and operational asset managementManage vendor renewals and contract administrationMaintain operational records and business documentationSupport planning and logistics for company meetings and eventsEnsure operational continuity through process documentation and knowledge management

No missed registrations or compliance deadlines, strong vendor relationships, organized business records, efficient and reliable office operations.
Process Improvement & Systems Management (15%) - Lead initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness and create scalability.
Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencyDocument and standardize key business processesMaintain operational dashboards and reporting systemsSupport EOS scorecards and company accountability systemsRecommend process, technology, and workflow improvementsPartner with leadership to improve organizational systems and effectivenessSupport implementation and optimization of platforms such as Rippling, QuickBooks, Microsoft 365, Teamwork, and other business applicationsBuild processes that allow Mission Advancement to scale while maintaining exceptional employee and client experiences

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in operations, finance, business administration, or related rolesExperience managing AP and AR functionsExceptional organizational and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneouslyStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong technology aptitude and system administration experienceAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
