About the role
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The Welder position handles Highland Refrigeration’s needs for fabrication/welding of pipes and fittings.
Duties
- Responsible for the layout and fabrication/welding of pipe and fittings.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, brings problems to the attention of the Safety Director.
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and motivated, positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SMAW-1 or GTAW-4 Welding Certification.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items for extended periods of time.
- Effective communication skills.
