Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC) is a non-profit organization and one of the largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations in the United States. The organization began with a group of student and community activists in 1967, and was incorporated and received non-profit status in 1969. CPLC is committed to empowering individuals through health & human services, housing, education, and economic development.
CPLC Prestamos is an award-winning Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity that has provided small business loans and high-quality technical support services to business owners in underserved communities since 1980. CPLC Prestamos offers loan products, business consulting services, and investment opportunities throughout Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
You will provide comprehensive business advising and technical assistance to small and medium-sized business owners, helping them identify opportunities for growth, improve operations, and achieve long-term success.
You will assess each client’s unique business needs and provide tailored guidance in areas such as business planning, strategic planning, succession planning, operations, marketing, and financial management. You will support prospective borrowers by helping them navigate the loan process, improve loan readiness, gather required documentation, and submit complete loan applications.
You will build meaningful relationships with entrepreneurs, deliver one-on-one coaching, and facilitate workshops, webinars, and community events focused on business education and access to capital. You will communicate complex business concepts in clear and practical ways while supporting CPLC Prestamos’ mission of expanding economic opportunity in underserved communities.

You are a resourceful and relationship-focused professional who enjoys helping entrepreneurs overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You have a strong understanding of business operations, financial concepts, and community-based support services.
You are comfortable working with diverse audiences, managing multiple client projects, and adapting to different environments, including virtual consultations, client visits, and community events. You bring strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to turn complex information into practical solutions that create real impact.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Bachelor's degree in related field highly preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in various aspects of business management, including planning, operations, marketing, and finance. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to analyze and interpret business information to provide cohesive and practical advice tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple client projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and effectively convey complex concepts in simple terms.
- Degree or certification in Business Administration, Management, or related field, complemented by continuous professional development in current business practices.
- Flexibility to adapt to different working environments, including remote consultations, on-site client visits, and flexible scheduling based on client availability.
- English/Spanish Bilingual Highly Preferred

- Hybrid: This Position is performed onsite; however, it can also be done remotely with approval and proper coordination, on a non-permanent basis
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
- A personal, reliable vehicle is required for transportation to and from work, client locations, and events.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required as position will require travel within the state.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
