Role Overview:
We are seeking a
Reliability Vibration Technician
to support a life sciences client based in
Rahway, NJ
.
This role serves as a technical expert in condition monitoring and reliability engineering, with a strong focus on vibration analysis and infrared thermography.
You will play a critical role in advancing asset reliability programs by diagnosing complex equipment issues and driving proactive maintenance strategies.
The position partners closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to improve equipment uptime, reduce lifecycle costs, and enhance overall system performance.
In addition to hands-on diagnostics, you will contribute to long-term reliability strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a highly technical role requiring deep expertise, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to failure prevention.
ISO Category I, II, III, or IV Vibration Analysis certification required. Category III or IV certification is preferred. Candidates with Category I or II certification will be considered if they have approximately 10–15 years of strong predictive maintenance and vibration analysis experience.
Infrared Thermography certification (Level I, II, or III) or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.

What You’ll Do:
Perform advanced vibration analysis on rotating equipment including motors, pumps, fans, compressors, and gearboxes
Conduct infrared (IR) thermographic inspections across electrical, mechanical, and process systems
Diagnose complex failure modes (e.g., bearing failures, misalignment, imbalance, electrical anomalies) and recommend corrective actions
Lead and support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement failure elimination strategies
Develop and refine predictive maintenance (PdM), condition-based monitoring, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs
Partner with engineering and operations teams to support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and reliability improvements
Mentor junior analysts and support training initiatives to promote reliability best practices
What You Bring:
ISO Category I, II, III, or IV Vibration Analysis certification required. Category III or IV certification is preferred. Candidates with Category I or II certification will be considered if they have approximately 10–15 years of strong predictive maintenance and vibration analysis experience.
Infrared Thermography certification (Level I, II, or III) or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
5–10+ years of experience in reliability engineering, condition monitoring, or rotating equipment analysis
Strong expertise in vibration analysis techniques (FFT, waveform, phase, resonance) and failure diagnostics
Experience with predictive maintenance tools, IR/vibration software, and CMMS systems
Ability to work in regulated environments (pharma, life sciences, or similar) with strong documentation practices
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum Education Requirement – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 3 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
Position Summary:
Back up to GM; 2
nd
in command;
Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present.
Two scenarios for this position in Univ.:
Has all facilities rolling up – Custodial / maintenance and grounds, and FM who reports to GM; very large integrated operation.
Mega account – multiple managers of maintenance; PM function; other specific managers – unifying position.
Key Duties:
Manage other managers; manage by walking around (rounding); Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development
client interface;
payroll oversight;
budgetary oversight on some services;
Oversees and coordinates projects
Manages work orders/CMMS
Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)
Manages QA and Safety
