Systems V&V Engineer Surveillance
Position Summary
As a Systems V&V Engineer, you will execute hands-on systems verification and validation activities for safety-critical avionics surveillance systems. Acron Aviation is seeking detail-oriented, technically rigorous V&V engineers who can execute and document systems verification activities and contribute to airworthiness certification on our TCAS, Transponder, and Integrated Surveillance Platform programs. The applicant will work as a key individual contributor within the Systems V&V team, collaborating with Systems Development, Software Engineering, and Program Management to ensure verification coverage, requirements traceability, and compliance with applicable industry requirements.
As an individual contributor, the Systems V&V Engineer is responsible for hands-on execution and documentation of systems verification activities within assigned programs, ensuring compliance with systems, industry, and customer requirements, and collaborating with Systems Development Leads and Project Leads on test integration, schedule, and certification readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for systems verification and validation activities for Surveillance development projects, including test planning, procedure development, execution, and results documentation; coordinates with US-based Acron systems engineers as required
- Partner with Systems Development Leads, Software Engineering, and Project Leads to define verification strategies, manage test dependencies, and meet program verification milestones
- Plan, develop, and execute System Test Cases, Procedures, and Scripts, ensuring requirements-based test coverage and traceability to systems and customer requirements
- Track and communicate systems verification status, open Problem Reports (PRs), and formal test execution to project stakeholders
- Author and peer-review Systems Test Procedures (STPs), System Test Reports (STRs), and other Systems Lifecycle documentation in accordance with ARP4754A
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience supporting systems engineering activities such as requirements definition or system integration
- Experience must include writing system requirements, system validation procedures, system test development, and system test execution
- Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills required
- Action-oriented, results-driven, high-energy, self-starter, innovative with new approaches to design work, influential with peers, and demonstrates critical thinking skills to drive to the root cause
- Self-motivated with good communication skills
- Experience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Demonstrated a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of working
- Ability to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution
Preferred Additional Skills
- Developing new system designs, writing system specifications, and supporting modeling development
- Developing system-level test procedures and test scripts, executing these tests, analyzing results, and supporting modeling testing efforts as needed
- Knowledge of engineering design standards for the commercial aviation industry
- Knowledge of ARP-4754A and DO-178 processes
- Familiarity with avionics industry specifications relating to Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS), Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Systems (ADS-B In and Out), Transponders, Terrain Awareness Warning Systems (TAWS), and ACAS X
