Job Title Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer Surveillance (L4)
Position Summary We are seeking a Systems Engineer to lead design and requirements activities across the Surveillance product line. This role focuses on transforming stakeholder needs into structured system requirements, defining architectures and interfaces, and supporting integration and verification activities.
You will take ownership of system-level design and requirements development while coordinating across hardware, software, and test teams. This role emphasizes design and requirements leadership, with supporting involvement in verification and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate stakeholder, customer, and regulatory needs into system requirements and design solutions
- Own requirements definition, allocation, traceability, and change management
- Define system architectures, interfaces, and integration approaches
- Lead development of SRS, SRD, ICDs, and related system artifacts
- Coordinate cross-functional execution across hardware, software, and test teams
- Support integration and verification planning and execution
- Develop system-level test strategies and validation approaches
- Participate in design reviews and drive closure of technical action items
- Identify risks and drive mitigation strategies across system development
- Support continuous improvement of systems engineering processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong experience in systems engineering, including requirements, architecture, and integration
- Experience developing system-level documentation (SRS, SRD, ICDs)
- Understanding of system lifecycle processes and engineering methodologies
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using automation and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
- Demonstrated a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to evaluate processes and implement more effective ways of working
- Ability to adopt and promote automation and AI tools to improve team speed, quality, and execution
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience in avionics or aerospace systems development
- Familiarity with surveillance systems (TCAS, ADS-B, transponders)
- Knowledge of ARP4754A, DO-178, or related standards
- Experience supporting integration and verification activities
- Ability to lead technical execution for a defined system scope
- Experience working in regulated engineering environments
