Giants Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring an EMT or Nursing Intern to serve as Camp Health Coordinator at our Balboa Park location in San Francisco for two weeks this summer.
This position is ideal for nursing students, pre-nursing students, EMT-certified individuals, EMT students, public health students, and healthcare professionals seeking hands-on experience working with children in an active outdoor environment.
The Camp Health Coordinator serves as the primary health and safety resource at camp while also supporting daily camp operations alongside the Camp Director.
Compensation & Schedule
Compensation: $937 per week
Location: Balboa Park San Francisco, CA
Camp Dates:
- August 37, 2026
- August 1014, 2026
Schedule: MondayFriday, approximately 89 hours per day
About Giants Baseball & Softball Camps
Giants Baseball & Softball Camps provides a fun, safe, and structured environment where campers ages 413 develop baseball and softball skills while building confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership.
Our staff play an important role in creating a safe and positive camp experience while helping young athletes grow both on and off the field.
Position Overview
The Camp Health Coordinator works directly with the Camp Director to support camper health, safety, and well-being throughout the camp day.
You will be responsible for administering first aid, monitoring campers with allergies or medical needs, maintaining health records, documenting incidents, and communicating with families when health concerns arise.
This role provides valuable experience for individuals pursuing careers in nursing, emergency medicine, healthcare, sports medicine, public health, or pediatric care.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Administer basic first aid to campers and staff as needed
- Manage and organize first aid supplies and medical equipment
- Monitor campers with allergies, medications, and special health considerations
- Support the management of EpiPens and other emergency medications
- Conduct basic health assessments when needed
- Maintain accurate health and incident documentation
- Communicate with parents regarding injuries, illnesses, and health-related concerns
- Help ensure all camp safety protocols are followed
Camp Operations Responsibilities
- Assist camp leadership with daily operations
- Support camper supervision throughout the camp day
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment
- Assist with attendance and administrative tasks
- Support camper check-in and check-out procedures
- Collaborate with coaches and staff to address camper needs
Required Qualifications
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
- CPR/AED Certification required
- Ability to pass a background screening
- Comfortable working outdoors throughout the camp day
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Nursing student or pre-nursing student
- EMT certification or EMT training program enrollment
- Public health student
- Healthcare experience working with children
- Interest in pediatrics, emergency medicine, sports medicine, nursing, or youth health
Baseball experience is not required.
