The Tier II role is for a group of Class A/Transport drivers whose primary responsibilities have a minimal degree of physical activity and customer service focus. The role primarily performs “drop and hook” deliveries. May have a minimal number of customers where more physical activities are required, as well as a higher degree of customer interaction.
Responsibilities:
Drive truck over established route to deliver the product at customer locations.Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on trucks to conform to DOT regulations and company policy and assist with routine maintenance on trucks.Exhibit courteousness toward customers, work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, maintain a neat appearance, and follow established policies and direction of management.Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours.Must be able to operate a handheld computer.Must be able to operate a powered lift truck (pallet jack).
Qualifications & Experience:
English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable experience driving Class A commercial vehicle preferred.Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug ScreenMust have a good driving record, according to company requirements. Must Pass clearinghouse. Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulationsExperience in food/beverage product delivery and customer service preferred.Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.Must be able to work independently.Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills required.Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Must have Class A commercial driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement (must also possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate in accordance with FMCSA Part 391.41 prior to operating a commercial motor vehicle for the company).
Physical Demand/Working Conditions:
Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
Must be able to routinely lift over 60 pounds and push/pull up to 300 pounds with a handheld hook.
Will be required to work in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
Will also be required to work outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
