Role Purpose
The Staff Accountant works to ensure the accuracy and integrity of Princess Polly's financial records, providing the foundational accounting support that keeps the business running smoothly. This role is responsible for maintaining day-to-day transactional accounting, reconciliations, and reporting that enables the finance team to deliver timely and reliable insights to the broader organization.
Organisational Contribution & Influence
The Staff Accountant is a key connector within Princess Polly's HQ, partnering across Finance, Merchandising, and Operations teams to ensure financial data flows accurately and efficiently throughout the business. This role builds essential relationships with Merchandising, Buying, and Marketing teams to support budget tracking, cost management, and timely reporting that drives informed commercial decision-making. By working closely with People & Culture, Technology, and Operations, the Staff Accountant helps ensure financial processes are aligned with the evolving needs of the broader organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Record journal entries and prepare reconciliations in support of month-end close
- Operating Expenses (Accruals)
- Fixed Assets & Prepaid Expenses
- Treasury/Bank Reconciliations
Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or audit
- Strengths in time-management, problem solving, and communication
- Experience using Microsoft office (excel), Oracle Netsuite, Rippling, Brex, Stampli, FloQast
- Knowledge of or desire to work in E-commerce/Retail fashion industry
- Experience with SOX 404(b) is a plus.
- CPA or progress towards licensure is a plus.
