PHARMACY MED SAFETY-QUALITY MANAGER
FULL TIME - CROWN POINT LOCATION
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy ensures that the pharmacy department is compliant with pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation/survey standards. Within the established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, the Medication Safety and Quality Manager implements and maintains department QI programs. This position works with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals responsible for developing and coordinating fail-safe medication–use systems. Performs the duties of a pharmacist as outline in the Pharmacist Job description, and any other related work as required or assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited college/university with B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree is required.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency is desired or a minimum of 5 years experience as a hospital pharmacist with at least (3) years of clinical and /or management experience
- Must have a current license in good standing from the Indiana Board of Pharmacy or be eligible for license in Indiana.
- Self-starter, people-oriented, attentive to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities while under pressure
- Ability to observe, analyze and interpret general, technical and clinical data ( verbal and written).
- Good communication and behavioral skills
