Patient RepresentativeThe best candidate will have customer service experience in a hospital setting. Strong customer service skills are the most important requirement for this position. This position also requires the ability to think analytically, prioritize multiple tasks, and work in a very fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for balancing cash drawers, counting cash, assisting patients with EOBs (explanation of benefits), accepting and posting payments, processing insurance remits, and other similar functions. The right candidate will have the ability to communicate well with patients and colleagues clearly and effectively, explaining insurance payments and denials and answering other claims-related questions.
Desired:
Prior experience in a hospital business office or customer service department, experience using Meditech, and experience reading EOBs.
Required:
Strong customer service skills, ability to type 40 wpm, strong personal computer skills including Microsoft Excel, strong communication skills both on the phone and in person, an outgoing and friendly attitude, ability to work with a team, and the ability to perform basic math functions.
The normal shift for this position is 8:30am-5:00pm, but it may change some days to provide coverage. Flexibility in working other shift hours is a requirement.
