JOB SUMMARY

Assumes responsibility for the training of all radiation therapists relative to technical aspects of treatment and simulation, including operation of radiation therapy equipment. This position is also responsible in the delivery of patient care.

Recognize the signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment and know when to withhold treatment until the patient is seen by the Radiation Oncologist.

Check all charts of patients under treatment at regular intervals to eliminate dosage errors, arithmetical errors, or errors of intention. Ensure that blood counts are satisfactory and recorded. Maintain clinical competencies for assigned clinical area and provide treatment as needed. Participates in the recording of required unit records, reports, and statistics for administrative purposes, demonstrates compliance with established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, PI(Performance Improvement), safety, environmental and infection control.
