About the role
The Information Technology Specialist provides technical, operational, and security-focused support that enables reliable and secure technology operations across Navigate Affordable Housing Partners. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this role supports systems administration, cybersecurity, end‑user support, and project implementation. The Specialist ensures systems function effectively, assists with troubleshooting and upgrades, and contributes to compliance with organizational and federal IT standards, and supports responsible adoption of AI tools and automation technologies.

Responsibilities
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
Technical Support & User Assistance
Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software, network, and access issues. Install, configure, and maintain workstations, printers, mobile devices, and IT equipment. Assist in monitoring system performance, Active Directory administration, and user permissions.
Systems Administration & Infrastructure Support
Assist in overseeing MSP/MSSP administration of servers, cloud infrastructure, and network devices. Support monitoring routine maintenance, patching, backups, and system updates. Monitor reports to ensure successful completion of scheduled processes.
Cybersecurity, AI Governance, & Compliance Support
Assist in managing security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, antivirus systems, endpoint protection, and AI usage monitoring controls. Support responsible AI use by enforcing proper data classification and access controls. Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity activities, and AI related risk mitigation planning. Support compliance with organizational policies, HUD requirements, NIST frameworks, and other external IT standards. Assist in maintaining documentation related to AI systems, automation tools, and emerging technologies in accordance with governance expectations.
Project Implementation & Documentation
Support technology projects, upgrades, AI implementations, and deployments. Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations, AI use case documentation. Contribute to the implementation of new tools, automation, and system improvements. Assist in evaluating AI vendors and reviewing security and compliance considerations prior to implementation.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the requirements as described below.
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 3+ years of experience in technical support, systems administration, or IT operations. Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking basics, and cloud technologies. Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and data protection best practices. Working knowledge or exposure to AI powered productivity tools, automation platforms, or AI governance concepts is preferred. Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+. Experience with NIST frameworks, Intune, or endpoint management systems is a plus. Understanding responsible AI principles, data governance, and risk management practices is highly desirable.

Employees must maintain a professional and distraction-free home workspace that supports productivity, confidentiality, and secure handling of sensitive information. The role requires regular in-state travel to field offices, partner sites, training sessions, property locations, and meetings. Some out-of-state travel may also be required for conferences, professional development, or organizational needs. Travel demands may vary based on program requirements and operational priorities.
