Compensation: $17.30-$25.00/hr
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
Position Summary
Provide customer service, reception and clerical support ensuring patient records and schedules are efficiently maintained and recorded for all areas in a fast paced Imaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
In Imaging and Diagnostic areas: answer telephones and assists callers with doctors orders for exams, provide physicians with diagnostic reports, order updates, assists nursing staff with orderables, locates attending physicians for radiologist and technologists when necessary. Liason between hospital associates and medical imaging staff.
Maintains patient schedules. Schedules appointments for all imaging modalities. Provides patient with preparation instructions when indicated. Provides explanation of the exam being scheduled. Maintains schedul by attending each appointment. Assures screening forms for mammography & MRI are completed. Provides assistance to patient as necessary. Coordinates appointments with other departments and arranges nursing services as needed. Collects data for PI report. Calls patients to confirm appointment date and time for all modalities.
Accurately process outpatient order entry in accordance with department production standards. Distributes required paperwork to the clinical areas.
Prepares cases for reporting on the Picture Archiving Communication System by allocating exam order to image and digitizing previous films when needed into the PACS. Demonstrates ability to scan paper documents electronically to provide electronic record. Reviews same on PACS to ensure all scanned documents were applied to PACS. Provides copies of images when requested by creating a CD. Maintains work list by identifying missing images or incorrect patient demographics. Maintains 24-hour benchmark for unread cases. Prepares mammography images for reporting by providing previous films, which are ordered online from warehouse. Prepares jackets for mammography technologists for daily mammograms.
Provides back up for Transportation as dispatcher.
Maintains general office procedures and necessary office supplies.
Provides Spanish interpretation services for imaging department.
Marginal Functions
Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established hospital and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Participate in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.
Participate in staff meetings and other in-services, meetings or committees as required.
Qualifications
Previous customer service experience and able to priortize tasks
Able to function effectively in a fast paced environment
