CNC Mill Setup Operator (3-Axis & 5-Axis) – Global CNC

Job Summary
Global CNC is hiring an experienced CNC Mill Setup Operator to set up and run 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision, efficiency, and high-quality work.
You will be responsible for full machine setups, optimizing cutting conditions, and ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances. If you have strong setup experience and can independently troubleshoot machining issues, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Install tooling, set offsets, and align fixtures/workpieces
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and cutting conditions for optimal performance
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining or setup issues quickly
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic upkeep
- Complete setup sheets, tooling records, and production documentation
- Work with programmers and engineering to improve processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in CNC milling setup
- Hands-on experience with 3-axis and/or 5-axis CNC machines
- Strong understanding of machining principles and tooling
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience with high-precision or tight-tolerance components
- Technical training or certification in machining
