The Employee Relations Assistant plays a key support role within the Orlando Employee Relations (ER) organization. This position assists with a wide range of employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, documentation, and disciplinary actions. The Employee Relations Assistant works closely with Employee Relations Managers and supervisors across the company to help ensure fair, consistent, and compliant employee relations practices.
This role is ideal for an early-career HR professional or a recent Human Resources graduate seeking hands-on experience in employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage employee relations documentation, ensuring personnel files are scanned, indexed, and stored accurately and in a timely manner
- Update and maintain employee relations records within HRIS and other recordkeeping systems
- Provide guidance and administrative support to managers and employees on employee relations matters
- Assist in investigating, documenting, and resolving employee complaints, grievances, and workplace conflicts
- Create investigation notes and draft disciplinary and corrective action documents
- Support workplace investigations and help recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws and company policies
- Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Payroll, Training, and Recruitment teams on employee relations policies and procedures
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to employee relations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years of office experience or currently majoring in Human Resources or a related field
- Prior experience in employee relations preferred
- Experience working in a retail environment preferred
- Working knowledge of employee relations practices and state and federal labor and employment laws preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver high-quality work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
