Job Title: Shop Assistant
Location: Whiteville, NC
Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM (hours may extend as needed for service calls)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Assistant to support daily operations in a busy mechanical and hydraulic service shop. This position will assist shop employees with general tasks and provide support during off-site service calls involving heavy-duty equipment and trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist technicians and shop staff with daily tasks and projects
Support mechanical and hydraulic service work on heavy-duty equipment and trucks
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Assist with loading/unloading tools and materials for service calls
Travel with team members to job sites as needed
Follow instructions carefully and complete tasks efficiently
Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Ability to follow directions and adapt quickly
Mechanically inclined (preferred but not required)
Must be reliable and punctual
Work Environment:
Shop and field environment
Exposure to outdoor conditions and physical labor
May require extended hours depending on workload and service calls
