- Compensation: Starting at $26.81/hour, based on experience, education, and internal equity

What You’ll Do as a Radiology Technologist
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders
- Utilize technical expertise and clinical judgment to capture accurate diagnostic images
- Provide clear communication and education to patients and families regarding procedures
- Ensure patient safety through proper positioning and adherence to radiation safety standards
- Maintain compliance with ARHS policies, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in cross-training opportunities, including Computed Tomography (CT), as needed
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and alignment with UNC Health Appalachian’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Clinical radiographic experience from an AMA-accredited program
- Certification as RT(R) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at hire

- Ability to provide safe and effective patient care within scope of licensure
- Knowledge of imaging procedures and patient care standards

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Physical & Work Environment
- Continuous standing and walking for ≥ 8 hours per shift
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling ≥ 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching
- Continuous hand, finger, and wrist dexterity with close visual attention
- Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, including x-ray equipment
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hospital-related hazards
- Irregular hours including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities
