Summary & Objective
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is clinically expert in-patient care, who can provide a high standard of care to all patients, following an established protocol with a physician(s). The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is responsible for direct patient care in collaboration with specific physicians to a selected group of palliative patients.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Clear and Active Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state of Florida
- DEA License clear and active
- CPR certification
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in a Health Care Facility
- Must have knowledge of computer office/clinical software
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
Essential Functions
- Perform a patient assessment to include medical history and physical exam, and in collaboration with the physician, develop an appropriate plan of care in the direct management of patients.
- Assists in the medical diagnosis, treatment, evaluation, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic diseases.
- Responsibly coordinate patient care and treatment plans with physicians, staff, partners, and across CHI service lines.
- Participate in the collection of research data.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and studies as they relate to the educational needs of the organization.
- Integrate current knowledge of professional issues, trends in healthcare and technological advances into scope of practice.
- Collaborate with Management in researching and preparing continuing education units (CEU's) for staff.
- Participate in staff and committee meetings and performs other duties as assigned by Senior Manager.
- Ensure effective communication within the CPCS Team as well as with physicians, staff, partners, and across CHI service lines.

- Qualified and able to provide medical diagnosis, treatment and / or prescriptions.
- Ability to interact with the public and other employees in a positive manner and promote a cooperative working environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures and pertinent State and Federal Rules and Regulations.
- Coordinate several projects at the same time with competing timelines.
- Ability to work directly with staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality care across the continuum as an expert in selected practice areas and to ensure the continuity of care is consistent with customer service guidelines.
- Ability to extend hospitality and patience while assisting patients, families, physicians and peers under stressful circumstances.
- Consistently able to work calmly and maintain effectiveness in situations of high stress.
- Ability to travel to any location throughout Miami-Dade County and Broward County as needed and expand territory as business needs dictate
- Maintain your required licenses, certifications and mandatory skill updates.
- Comply with all policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Provide other duties of healthcare team member
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibility
- May serve as an interim department leader depending on need
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stair or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.
