Position Summary: As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be working with the Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable Supervisor and other members of the Finance team and be responsible for full accounts payable cycle and facilitate the month end close. We are looking for a seasoned Accounts Payable professional who is self-motivated and keen on creating efficient A/P processes in a fast-growing public company.
What you will be doing: Perform full-cycle accounts payables and month-end close activities including accounts payable and the accruals, travel and expense and account reconciliations. Oversee weekly accounts payable payment runs, bank portal payments, and maintain cash flow requirements Process purchase orders and accounts payable invoices and review for appropriate coding and approvals in accordance with corporate policies Set up and modify bank wires, cash transfers and templates Participate in doctor pay calculations, journal entries and payment processing Input and process journal entries involving A/P, intercompany transactions, prepaids, depreciation schedules, accruals, and fixed assets Monitor accounts payables inbox and respond to vendor enquiries Assist with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Assess current processes, procedures and internal controls and recommend, implement and document changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness Ensure financial activities are aligned with organizational strategic goals Additional finance duties and adhoc tasks as required
You Have: Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or related field. 2+ years of previous experience in A/P Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency and accountability Excellent time management skills Strong customer focus to provide excellent service to business stakeholders Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team Prior experience working in healthcare and/or technology companies is an asset The salary for this position falls within a defined range and will be determined based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and the needs of the organization.
