Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our dynamic team of scientists. The ideal candidate will support laboratory operations across various NGS workflows, including sample preparation, library construction, sequencing, and data quality control. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about molecular biology and eager to contribute to cutting-edge research projects in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, quantification, and quality assessment.
- Prepare sequencing libraries using established protocols.
- Operate and maintain sequencing instruments (e.g., Illumina platforms).
- Monitor run level performance metrics (error rate, %Q30, cluster pass filter, % occupancy, etc) and troubleshoot instrument or library issues as needed
- Collaborate with bioinformatics and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of results.
- Maintain accurate records of lab work, ensure compliance with SOPs, and champion best practices in documentation and process adherence
- Assist in writing protocols and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology or genomics lab (academic or industry).
- Familiarity with NGS workflows and instrumentation is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
