We look to leverage the latest technologies, best-in-industry equipment, and up-to-date construction and safety practices to build a first-class fiber optic utility construction firm in multiple markets throughout the US.
Job Summary
Glass Roots Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drafter/QC Specialist to join our

and to ensure all plans, deliverables, and redlines meet strict company, client, and municipal quality
standards.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Design
Create, modify, and finalize detailed construction drawings (e.g., plan and profile, conduit, cable,
manhole/handhole details) for Outside Plant (OSP) underground telecommunications networks
using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD.
Translate field notes, redlines, sketches, and engineering specifications into accurate and
standardized construction documents, including (As-Built) drawings.
Utilize GIS (Geographic Information System) data and base maps to integrate utility mapping,
right-of-way (ROW), and easement information into design plans.
Prepare and format drawings for permitting applications to various municipalities, utility
companies, and regulatory bodies.
Quality Control (QC) & Compliance
Perform comprehensive quality control reviews of all internal and external design documents to
ensure technical accuracy, completeness, and adherence to engineering standards, client specifications, and local/federal regulations (e.g., city codes, safety clearances).
Verify that all dimensions, materials, and construction methods specified in the drawings are
correct and constructible in an underground environment.
Manage and maintain an organized library of project drawings, standards, templates, and
specifications, ensuring all versions and revisions are properly documented and controlled.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Supervisors to resolve design
discrepancies, provide technical support, and incorporate necessary design changes or field
redlines quickly and accurately.
