Position Summary
As a Medical Office Assistant at WELL Health Hemorrhoid Treatment Centres, you’ll play an essential role in supporting patient care and clinic operations. Working primarily in our Vancouver clinic—and occasionally in Surrey—you’ll collaborate closely with physicians and clinic staff to deliver a smooth and positive patient experience. This role also includes a few hours of virtual administrative work each week, allowing for flexibility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and organized, with excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-focused service.
What You’ll Be Doing
Medical Office Assistant Duties
- Greet and register patients, verify insurance, and process payments
- Schedule and confirm appointments, managing patient flow throughout the day
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms and clean rooms between appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and manage clinic correspondence and faxes
- Assist with minor clinical tasks and support physicians as needed
- Handle billing tasks and submit insurance claims
- Ensure exam rooms and administrative areas are clean, stocked, and organized
- Contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-focused clinic environment
You Have
- Previous medical office experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to commute reliably between Surrey and Vancouver
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team
