We are pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist with a primary focus on Learning & Development. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Spartanburg, SC, and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Human Resources Generalist to lead the development and implementation of OTO Development's Learning & Development (L&D) strategy, while also supporting general HR operations. This new position is ideal for someone who is passionate about talent development, skilled in employee engagement, and eager to build and lead a company-wide L&D function from the ground up.
What will you be doing most days?
Learning & Development (Primary Focus):
- Lead the design, development, and execution of the company's Learning & Development strategy
- Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and recommend scalable solutions
- Build and maintain leadership development, skills training, and compliance training programs
- Create eLearning modules, in-person workshops, and blended learning content
- Partner with department heads and hotel leadership to tailor learning paths to functional needs
- Implement and manage a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Train managers on L&D HR systems, including LMS and SharePoint
- Evaluate and report on training program effectiveness through metrics, feedback, and business outcomes
- Stay current on industry L&D trends and incorporate best practices into programs
Talent Acquisition & HR Operations:
- Partner with hiring managers to support strategic recruitment efforts and to ensure effective selection and interviewing
- Maintain ongoing communication with hotel teams to ensure alignment on recruiting priorities, challenges, and upcoming staffing needs
- Assist with recruitment-related initiatives such as visa programs (H-2B/J1), job boards, and recruitment technology platforms
- Support L&D initiatives, including training and onboarding for new hires, ensuring a consistent and welcoming experience across regions
- Analyze and report on hiring metrics, talent trends, and workforce development needs to inform strategy
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to pull, review, and interpret HR-related reports to support decision-making and strategy
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the Human Resources team
What are the requirements for this position?
- You have a bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college/university (degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.)
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources preferred with emphasis in L&D, Talent Development, or Employee Engagement
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort analyzing data and reports is preferred
- Prior experience building and implementing training programs across multi-location or hospitality environments is preferred
- Exceptional facilitation, training, presentation, and communication skills
- Have proficient skills using Microsoft Office Suite programs

- Demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels and drive cultural and organizational improvement

Physical Requirements for this Position
You must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.
Travel Requirements
This role requires up to 30% travel. Travel is outside the local area and overnight.
