Coordinates patient care with providers, as appropriate.

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, and infection control standards.

Triages patient calls and documents in the medical record.

- Prepares equipment and assists physicians during treatments and examinations of oncology patients.

- Administers anti-neoplastic agents and other medications adhering to NLH guidelines.
-
- Assists physician with the examination/evaluation of oncology/infusion patients.
-
- Provides patient resources as needed, including but not limited to referrals for social services and other needs related to treatment.

Administrative & Clerical:

Assists in the development of nursing policies and procedures related to the care of patients receiving specialty services.
-
Maintains accurate records on each patient.
-
Assists in registering new patients, scheduling appointments and follow-ups on missed appointments, as necessary.
-
Assists in the preparation of operational and capital budgets for the oncology clinic.
-
Prepares patient education.
-
Coordinates patient prescription refills.
-

- Documents assessments, plan of care, treatment and response to nursing care for oncology/infusion patients.
